This is a return visit for me. In fact it’s the third visit. Each visit
seems to bring one event or another; the death and subsequent
ressurection of a relative, the calls of "lamb shank, please" followed
by the patter of chase, you know the sort of thing. This time however,
it was third time lucky, and Monkey, Big Al, Mrs Big (on ya mobile) Al,
and myself, had a normal pleasant evening.

Francs, as you would expect, is French, but not too french. I have
heard the elegant chatter of french people dining there, and although
the menu items are in french, their descriptions are not. Not that we’d
have a problem with the multi-lingual Mrs Big (on ya mobile) Al there.

We normally take advantage of a voucher from a special offer made
available on Francs’ website from time to time. If you register with
them, the site allows you to print the voucher for "2 for 1" deals.
Their site is here.

Now then, on with the show; we all enjoyed starters with Big Al going
for the Saussice Et Jambon (sausage), Mrs Big Al and Monkey consuming
the Coquilles St Jacques Iberique (scallops), and myself forgetting
completely at this point what I had. The reason for this is the main
course.

I only remember one main course, mine. It was delicious, and nothing,
not even Big Al’s Spiders was going to distract me from enjoying the
lot. I had the Tartalette Masseillaise, described as…

"Roasted vegetable tart made with slow roasted plum
tomatoes, potato, leek & olives, finished with a slice of fresh
Mozzarella flavoured with a hint of pesto, drizzled with a red pepper
coulis"

It doesn’t mention the wild rice included and was the best main course I’ve had at a french restaurant.

Puddings and coffee followed; Tarte Au Chocolat Blanc, Creme Brulee were reported as particularly nice.

With the two "2 for 1" vouchers the bill came to £84 for the four of us. That’ll do. 🙂
