X-Spicy Chipotle Southwest Sauce

A spicy and smoky sauce perfect for sandwiches, wraps, or as a dip.

  • 120g mayonnaise (approximately 1/2 cup)
  • 30g Dijon mustard (approximately 2 tablespoons)
  • 15g lime juice (approximately 1 tablespoon)
  • 30g chipotle peppers in adobo sauce (minced, approximately 2 tablespoons)
  • 1g cayenne pepper (approximately 1 teaspoon)
  • 1g smoked paprika (approximately 1 teaspoon)
  • 1g garlic powder (approximately 1 teaspoon)
  • 1g onion powder (approximately 1 teaspoon)
  • 1g ground cumin (approximately 1/2 teaspoon)
  • 1g dried oregano (approximately 1/2 teaspoon)
  • 0.5g black pepper (approximately 1/4 teaspoon)
  • 1.5g salt (approximately 1/4 teaspoon)
  • 5g hot sauce (approximately 1 teaspoon)
  • 7g honey (optional, approximately 1 teaspoon)
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and lime juice until smooth.
  2. Add the minced chipotle peppers in adobo, cayenne pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, ground cumin, dried oregano, black pepper, and salt. Mix thoroughly.
  3. Stir in the hot sauce and honey (if using). Adjust the hot sauce to your desired spice level.
  4. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld together.
  5. Use as a spread for sandwiches, wraps, or burgers, or as a dipping sauce for fries and veggies.

Yield: Makes approximately 240g
