Last night was a rare outing to a non-indian venue…the classic Pizza
Express…just down the road from the hotel that Eej and I frequent,
and what a nice change it was too.

After drinks and olives (mmmmm)…came the starters….bruschetta for
myself and dough (doh) balls for Eej….well…dough balls is doughs
ball innit…just never enough of them. The bruschetta was very nice
and topped with a little black pepper got the juices flowing
nicely for mains.

I had the common Sloppy Guiseppe pizza…spicey, tomatoey…and beefy. What I like
about Pizza Express is that it’s not swamped by cheese (especially good
for my supposed diet). Eej plumped for a salad variant, sampling baby
figs for the first time. Both dishes were up to scratch and very tasty.

Since Pizza Express portions can be discribed generally as "meagre",
pudding was in order. Cheesecake…with a berry coulis, vanilla ice
cream, topped with a chinese gooseberry, for myself and the pear
tart/ice cream for Eej. Both puddings sealed the meal for us and the
bill including a couple of drinks each was some £43.

Defineatley the place to go for a change.
