This weeks JJWWCC took us to Southport, and the Lal Qila Indian establishment.

A nicely decorated spacious place with a typical absence of punters for our mid week visit. No Joe which seems par but Rob Cant, Eej and Biker Pete in attendance.

There is a three-course for £10.95 menu if you get there before 7:30 but the options were too limited for our obviously spoiled tastes and we all ended up choosing from the main menu.

Keen to top up my man points I opted for the Aloo Tikkanin ( I think ), battered potato and spinach, followed by a Chicken Vindaloo, some more potato and a couple of chapati’s.

Shown to our table we proceeded with pops and pickles. All good with unanimous remarks that the ‘green’ was especially nice.

Starters arrived shortly which were somewhat lacklustre in the presentation department ( wot no lemon ), but tasty all round nonetheless.

Conversation was made including ghosts in Nottingham dungeons and films with surprising scenes and mains were supplied.

Lamb cashew was declared good by Biker Pete, but Eej’s off the menu chicken pathia had less of a good reception being compared to a Chinese chicken curry. I forget what Rob had but no complaints were forthcoming.

This is quite an expensive place, with the bill coming in just shy of £30 a head including drinks. Probably not one we’ll rush back to despite the good food.

Fart quiotient = high.
