Do you want to see a grown man (well 18 year old anyway) cry? You do? Here’s how. Take him to the Chand and let him order a Phal. Then sit back and watch the waterworks start.

My son wanted to go here for his 18th birthday meal so we duly obliged. He has been looking forward to this Phal for over a year now so it only seemed fair.

The restaurant is small with white walls and is what some might call scruffy. It is a multiple Top 100 rated Good Food Curry Guide entry and this is well justified.

The best thing about the place, except the food, is the staff. If I had to take all the rude, useless waiters to a place to see how it should be done, then Chand is the place. They have just the right amount of attentiveness and friendliness to really make the meal go well.

The food. Barring the ring stinger appeal of the Chicken Phal, it was delicious. Al said his chicken paseena starter was like chat without the puri and loved it. Hot and tasty he reckoned.

Sorry Troy, I forgot. Pops and pickles good with both spicy and plain available.

Mains were very large, Nans covered in ghee.
