36 Common La
house. They also put up with us being loud and obnoxious which is very
handy.
and pickles are excellent but you then have to wait an interminable
amount of time for your starters to arrive. This is the recurring theme
at The Raj. Do not go if you fancy a quick meal. This place does not
know the word rush. This unfortunately adds to the raucousness as
people tend to do stupid things when their little minds aren’t fully
occupied with food. It may be a ruse by the restaurant to sell more
beer. Seems to work as well.
The other theme of this restaurant
is HEAT. You walk in and the Bombay Mix is scorching which just gives
you a taster of what’s to come. Every dish here is quite a bit
hotter than at other restaurants and the Piri Piri chicken is like
eating lava.
Our mains covered all the standard fair
including jalfreizis, tandoori grills and dhansaks. pity poor al when
sair ordered this. everyone agreed very nice, if a little hotter on
the scoville scale than normal.
Meal was about £90 for five. Just wish they knew how to serve the grub quicker.
