The original curry house in Rusholme, Shere Khan is central to the
curry mile and all restaurants can be found with it as a starting point.
I have heard loads of varying reports on the place so only one way to truly find out so in I went.
As
I entered I was met by quite a few very smart (black uniform) waiters
and waitresses. One waiter tried to usher me towards a table near the
window but also very close to a family where mommy and daddy were
unsuccessfully trying to control gemima, pippa and rupert (or whatever
the little brats were called). Having none of this I walked to another
table only to be asked to move back near the Addams family. I explained
my allergy to kids and was left well alone.
Fantastic diet coke accompanied my bog standard onion bhaji. Pops and pickles also very standard.
Main course was Kheema Khorai. Lovely. Spicy and excellent with Chapatis and rice.
The
waiters and waitresses were now quite happy to serve me and I had a
long chat with one about the hotel I was staying at. Made me feel quite
welcome at the end.
Restaurant is excellent, family friendly and well worth another visit.
