Fancied a Thai meal, so I looked on the web and Jitrada had loads of very good reviews. Can’t say I disagree with them.

Had a guest appearance from Deano who adores Thai food. Got to Sale and meandered around the crappy one way system to find absolutely no parking. Ended up on a side street and walked back to the restaurant.

It’s huge. Half of it was shut down for the night but there were still tons of tables being filled quite quickly. It may be advisable to book on the weekends. You go in and over a small bridge with massive koi carp and a terrapin which looked plastic (still don’t know if it was real). The fattest koi was of course named Eej for the night.

Service was quick and polite. I lost the power of speach for several minutes which made ordering quite difficult. Don’t know what happened there. Eventually ordered Tom Yam Soup, Mee Grob and spicy pork with lettuce leaves. Deano and Troy said their dishes were excellent and spicy and my Mee Grob was fantastic. Loads of King Prawns and chicken with sweet and crispy noodles. Delicious.

We then had the crispy duck and pancakes and quite a fat little fella it was too. Loads of meat. The onions and cucumber were chunky rather than shredded, the plum sauce was strong and thick. Could have done with double the number of pancakes (seems a normal occurrence). Very good standard of duck.

Our mains were Chicken with noodles, a green chicken curry and a pad thai. My Pad Thai was quite spicy and overflowing with chicken and King Prawns. It was very good, but still shaded by the Aruno Thai. Troy didn’t say much about his noodles but scoffed the lot so I can only assume the were up to scratch. Deano reckoned that his green curry was fantastic. Can’t get fairer than that.

Drinks wise we had a few Singhas more than normal (Deano may be a bad influence) and this bumped up the bill considerably. It cost us £85 for three including £25 on drinks.
