I was expecting great things after reading a lot of great reviews for this place and was only slightly disappointed.

The
place is well known as an Elvis shrine and it doesn’t shirk from it’s
responsibilities. The famous Wendy was not in attendance and no live
entertainment materialised. Hardly any Elvis on the muzac either. Quite
a shame. The music that was played was enough to ensure Troy couldn’t
sit still all night. Whistling, tapping, singing and clicking of
fingers meant it was like taking my daughter out when she was four and
hyped up on cheap cola. I’m sure his paracetamol was having a dodgy
reaction with the diet coke and sending him a bit more loopy than usual.

The
first thing to hit you is the seats. Bone hard and extremely
uncomfortable. Farmer Giles would have great difficulty eating here.
The waiter and waitress were pleasant and drinks
certainly cold.

We ordered a Chicken Salad and a
Pork Toastie for starters. Both were delicious. Troy thought his Pork
Toastie was similar to toast toppers but it was very good. If only
Heinz could get that stuff in the can. My salad was fresh, crunchy and
quite hot and spicy. Good starters.

Main Course consisted
of Chicken Pad Thai for me and Beef Red Curry with Egg Fried Rice.
The Pad Thai was good but not up to Aruno Thai’s standard. Not
enough peanuts for me. Troy thought his curry was delicious but
didn’t have the heat he was normally accustmed to. It seemed to
make him sniff a lot and one of his eyes started twitching. Say no
more. Bizarre.

We then pigged out on banana and apple
fritters which were completely over the top mountains of fritter, ice
cream, squirty cream and sprinkles. Heaven.

Finished off with Soft Fruits with the bill. Never a bad thing.

Go
to this restaurant. You will enjoy it. We did. Troy regressed to
childhood which was amusing. The food is good if not brilliant and
there is a very pleasant atmosphere to the place.
Bill was £42 inc drinks
