Le Minkey (recently renamed because of his recent trip to Montpellier) and I took a trip to the Pacific restaurant last night. One of the many oriental restaurants in China Town.

This restaurant boasts two sections, Thai and Chinese, and we opted for the latter.

This review may be a little pre-empted by the leading picture, as this was the state of our plates after demolition. All went down pretty well.

We started with a combination mixed platter for two (£5 each), which consisted of (in pairs), ribs, spring roll, sesame prawn toast and satay chicken, finished with a garnish of seaweed. These were all lovely, although it was noted the spring rolls were a little overdone.

Mains included, chicken in Kung Po (originally ordered incorrectly as Pung Ko, lol), chicken in schezuan hot sauce, boiled rice, fried rice and soft friend noodles (mmmmm…). We were warned off the firey looking dried chilli's in both dishes, but it seems none of this heat was exchanged with the rest of the food, since despite both dishes being described as spicy and hot respectively, neither was spicy in any context.

Still, you will see from the picture the tameness did not detract much from the enjoyment.

At some point Le Minkey obsessed on the symmetry of things, and took this next picture. I include it here for you to make your own mind up on his mental state.

garys symmetrical thinking

Nastiness arrived, after 2 Singha's, in the form of a food bill, which topped £48. Budget blown we headed off.
