I was joined this summer evening by Gary, our newly qualified Monkey, for a jaunt into Chinatown, in search of a restaurant that hadn’t been reviewed before. We quickly found the Woo Sang, and after a brief purusal of the outside menu, in we trotted.

Another of these up-the-stairs affairs, the restaurant looked good, clean and I looked forward to standard fare.

We went for the quarter crispy duck for starter, which arrived, and unusually our first duck pancake was made for us by the waitress while another divvied up the remaining duck. This may have been because the first pancake was rather dry and hard, I suspect the leftovers from a previous diner. The remaining pancakes, in their usual container, were fine though.

I ordered the Chicken in Kung Bo sauce with Yung Chow fried rice. Very tasty, and, unlike the last Kung Bo I had, not swamped with cashew nuts. Having not been out to eat for a little while it was most satisfying to fill my belly once more.

A couple of lagers each brought the bill to a shade over £40. That’ll do.
