Extreme curry withdrawal lead myself and GG, along with respective partners (and tag along children) to this establishment on the Wellingborough Road in Northampton. I had been here before, but it was a while ago, so well worth another look.

This place is a 'proper' balti place, you bring your own drinks and almost everything is served in a large balti dish with a spoon. Ideal to get a quick curry fix! However, if like Tina, you prefer to cut up your food, knives and forks are available on request!

After munching the obligatory pops (the red chilli salsa is good….real good) we studied the menu.

Various dishes were ordered, Chicken Balti Bengal for myself; whole chillis, a boiled egg (cut in half) and a great gravy easily soaked up with the boiled rice. Tina had a chicken tikka massala, and I agreed with her that it was very tomatoey…more than you would expect in such a dish…but she ate it. Korma's for the kids looked good and the nan breads and roti's were bigger than the usual fare.

A fine, quick eat and all the cheaper for taking your own booze purchased from the handy Coop shop 'round the corner.

For the 6 of us the bill came to aound £55.

IIRC, the last time I went a 'family' nan was ordered and was HUGE. Worth ordering just for the amusement factor.
