I thought I had made a mistake because there was only one couple when I walked in. Got the usual crappy table facing the back wall but then came the grub. Popadoms so fresh and tasty that I had 3. Pickles led me to believe that curry is served hotter in Leicester than other parts of the country. Nothing I ate later dispelled that idea.

Onion Bhajis were good but the sauce was very watery and a tad bitter for me.

Main course consisted of quite dry mushroom bhaji that was still very tasty, very fluffy boiled rice, an over-ghee'd naan bread and a searingly hot chicken dhansak. Said dhansak was beautiful, sweet and sour, lots of pineapple and lentils, but the hottest thing I have eaten in months. I thought my face was going to cave in.

Then a free whiskey and off to see if the next curry house in Leicester serves hotter than normal dishes for my delectation.

Under £20 for the pleasure including a couple of pints. Highly recommended.
