Well, I’ve arrived in Leicester for a short while and its my first trip to a curry house. Drove around for ages till I actually found one, and what a belter.

Went in and was offered a great table next to some funky fish stuck to the side of a fish tank. Was then offered the scruffiest menu I have ever seen. Went for the staple onion bhajis and chicken pathia, etc

Pops and pickles were fresh and crisp. The pickles were very chunky onions with what looked like tomato sauce but turned out to be something very hot and spicy. Excellent. Onioon Bhajis were good and the tandoori sauce great. Then came the main course.

The Raj in Culcheth now has a competitor for the most over-the-top hot curry house ever. My chicken pathia was positively molten……. but delicious. I overheard three or four people commenting on how hot the food was. It was great to hear. A curry house that does hot food. What an original idea. I also went for a mushroom bhaji which was as good as any I've eaten. Really very good. The rice and Naan was also excellent, especially then naan.

They had a poster up saying they had been nominated for the Keicester Echo best curry restaurant award and I can only agree.

The waiters were tremendous and the whole thing cost less than £20. Give it a go.
