Quite an unglamourous place for a very impressive restaurant. Tandoori Nite is situated on the newish Chichester Gate Park alongside a cinema, bowling alley and a few other restaurants.

It really is a huge place and must be quite something when full. As it was there were 3 people and I was on my tod. So they sat me in the huge plate glass windows. Look everybody. Its a sad, fat man eating all alone.

Pops and Pickles good but like everything else, very expensive. I suppose they outlaid a lot to get the restaurant to the high standard it njoys, but, as always, the customer gets it in the neck.

I had the Onion Bhajis which were excellent followed by a chicken parsi fare, which turned out to be a chicken dhansak. It was very, very good, quite hot but sweet and sour at the same time. It came with rice and my plain naan was lovely and moist whilst being crispy on the oven side. Perfect.

To round it off I had pistacchio ice cream. This was very rich and crreamy, not overly icey like some cheaper ice creams. Tasty and three balls to boot.

Go here after you’ve been to the pictures. Don’t waste your money on the crap you get in the multiplex, spend it at Tandoori Nite. I wonder if they have one of those old adverts at the pictures.

Cost about £22.00 witha couple of pints of lager.
