Spotted very near to the Travelodge where I’m staying at the moment, thought it would be rude not to. Ahem.

Looked bigger on the outside (anti-Tardis effect), cosy inside. Bays of four to six places it seems. Might go back further than I think as I was at the front.

Went for an Aloo Chat Massalla to start. No puri here. Potato curry, simple. Curiously, I found the cucumber underneath the curry, so it was kinda warm and soggy, not what I’m used to. Still, it was ok, if a bit insipid.

So for mains, the baseline chicken madras was ordered, along with a saag aloo and keema nan.

The madras was disappointedly mild, really low end madras spice wise. The portion was on the small side, the chicken seemed well cooked, but not overly. Saag aloo seemed standard and the keema naan was the smallest I’d ever seen.

Although, I was stuffed by the time I’d finished, (I’m blaming Cobra gas here) you could tell the portions were smaller than usual, as there was nothing left.

I guess I’m just used to leaving stuff, which maybe is a bad sign of my Western culture.

Two pints of Cobra and the bill was just over £21. Just a tad over budget I’d say. The place was busy, but I guess that is because of its city centre location, rather than the portion size or value.

If I go again, it will be for a vindaloo.
