This is Mum and Dad’s local and a visit to see them wouldn’t be the same without a meal here. It’s had a recent facelift and the decor is light and airy. Very polite and attentive staff. Been here a few times now and not sure why I haven’t done a review before as it’s defo the place to go if you’re in the area.

Tina had veg somaosas for starter, which she said were nice, but a little spicy. The mint yohgurt from the pickles selection helped her out here. I had an aloo roti, potato curry in a roti wrap with the standard salad garnish. Very nice too. Lovely to start the proceedings with.

Mains ordered including beef vindaloo for Dad; he remarked the beef was lovely and tender, biriyani for Mum; no problems here, chicken tikka masalla for Tina; very nice, but missing a little twang, and a prawn pathia for myself; just perfect balance of sour, spice and sweetness.

Various rice and naan were ordered and all cooked perfectly. Wine flowed.

I’m never disappointed when I use this place. Prices are a little higher, probably due to its location, but worth it for a good evening with great company.

The bill was just shy of a ton, but that did include two bottles of a particularly easy drinking Australian red.
