Our midweek randezvous took us to EstEstEst in Didsbury. We had planned a visit to a tapas place in Didsbury, but the seemingly empty restaurant was apparently all booked up. Hey-ho.

On the team this week were Big Al, Monkey, Monkey jnr, Dean and myself. Monkey jnr is a recent addition to the UNIX clan and I see a quick promotion to full blown monkey.

EstEstEst was busy, but we were given a nice big table and an Italian beer was ordered by us all. Big Al, being a supreme being in the world of beer asked for the “dark” version, but the waiter did not know of this product, so we had their usual light stuff.

Starters were ordered, comprising of Cesaer Salad, Garlic bread (with cheese), Zuppa de something (bean soup with croutons), bruschetta, and others I don’t recall. Suffice to say that all were nice and plates were devoid of consumables after we finished. The coutons however, were torn peices of brushetta, and although probably seen as “rustic” by some, just looked like the remains from a bird table to me. Monkey’s pizza cutting skills were brought to the fore when the garlic bread arrived. I’ve never seen so many different sorts and sizes of triangles!

Mains included, pizza, pasta in chilli tomato, chicken linguini and lasagne. Again all enjoyable along with a garlic bread, this time cut more appropriately by Big Al. No complaints here. Suitably full, and with several more beers and a diet coke our bill worked out at just shy of £20 a head – sorted.

A nice one should your primary choice of restaurant be unavailable!
