Pining for a curry, I used the Tina’s work outing as a great excuse to take the kids out for dinner 🙂

The Prince Of Bengal frontage has big silver letters which scream “come on, you know you want to”, so we did.

Adam is a popadum man, he’s not bothered with starters, so we ordered some, and lovely they were too. Crisp, not dripping in ghee and light. Good job from the outset!

So while Adam munched his pops, Jess and I tucked into starters; chicken pakora and aloo chat. Jess’ pakora looked like small scotch eggs, and she seemed to enjoy the lot. My aloo chat was just perfect, potato curry with that lovely hint of cinnamon and a light fluffy deep-fried chapati.

On to mains; butter chicken/mushroom rice/garlic nan for Jess, chicken tikka masalla/mushroom rice/nan for Adam, and chicken tikka jalfrezi/keema rice/chilli nan for myself.

Not really one for butter chicken I had a dip with my nan, nice if you like that sort of thing, but too sweet for me. Ditto for the tikka massalla (and very red too). The jalfrezi was stupendous though, and the chilli’s not too hot that you couldn’t happily munch them in solo as well as with the tikka chicken. Chilli nan, same chilli’s I’d say, so again, lovely.

All in all, a great feast, and at £46 for the three of us which included 4 pints of coke and a J2O, a good price too.

Eej, we will have to do this one next time your in town (diet permitting of course).
