What a place! Can’t have changed much in the last 20 years. Jeff at work told me he used to go here all the time years ago so I was intrigued. Got lucky with the parking directly outside. This is an old fashioned curry house doing all the right things. Good food at good prices.

Pops and pickles good and plentiful.

Had the Mixed Kebab which was onion bhaji, veggie samosa and sheek kebab. The kebab was brilliant, fell apart in your mouth and really well spiced. The samosa was crisp and the filling delicious, not overpowering curry like some can be and the bhaji was flat and really well cooked. Crispy on the outside and moist in the middle. Really a very good starter.

For main I had the mixed tandoori dish. A curry sauce was extra so I didn’t bother. Nor did I need it. The lamb and chicken tikkas were moist and tasty. Tandoori chargrilled to perfection. Another excellent sheek kebab and a huge piece of tandoori chicken that was bright red but not overdone spice-wise. The accompanying salad was crisp and fresh. I could have done with a little more salad to be honest (not something you’ll hear me say too often) but I have no complaints. I’ll be going back. They have kurzi lamb which for once doesn’t need precision planning to order. Just turn up and order it. Got to give that one a go.

The waiter was helpful, courteous and smart and made dinner even better. Cheers.

Make the journey to this great place. You’ll need to book Thursday thru Saturday but you should give it a try. I’ll be taking the lads soon.

Cost £16 including 2 pints of coke. Bargain.
