Ended up at my mate’s gaff in Hove, near Brighton and he suggested this restaurant.

Got there early which was handy as it filled up pretty quick after 7 o’clock. The tables were crammed full of glasses and other nicnacs. No use to the curry eater. Went for onion bhaji. Marco had shami kebab. My bhaji was good, tasty and crispy and the pops and pickles were lovely. I though Marco’s shami kebab would have been better with a small omelette as in other good indian restaurants. He really liked it so I bite my lip and keep quiet.

For main we had a chicken kondoor which was chicken tikka and mincemeat in a thick sauce and a mixed meat balti. The latter was huge and looked very rich. Too much for marco to finish. we also had aloo sag bhaji and cauliflower bhaji. marco liked the sag aloo but my cauli bhaji was very disappointing. Very watery taste and quite unpleasant. The chicken kondoor was lovely and thick, and just spiced beautifully. Rice and nan were very good.

cost was £46 including a couple of large bottles of cobra each so not too pricey.
