What should we say, Cheap and cheerful about sums it up.

The three curryhounds descended on this place early doors (handy because they shut at 8pm). There was only one other table occupied which isn’t unusual. The tables are coated in plastic for easy, quick maintenance and didn’t distract at all.

Popadoms tasted like sharwoods and the pickles were a little watery but tasted ok and lots of it. We ordered mixed kebabs, samosas and chicken tikka for starters. Good things included the meat bits which were large and nicely cooked. Bad was the onion bhaji which was rock like in its lightness and mosslike in its taste. Gerry said the samosas and tikka aloo were very acceptable.

Mains consisted of Chicken Madras, Chicken Jalfrezi and Chicken Dopiaza with rice and various different naans. They were all a bit watery. My madras was no hotter than a normal curry and the jalfrezi only bit occasionally when the chillis were found. Troy just complaqined about the high salt content he was experiencing. Our naans varied froom very good for the peshwari to ok for the chicken (but very salty) to uninspiring for the cheese. We hadn’t quite finished when the shutters started coming down (literally).

Beers were good and the mango lassi was FANTASTIC.

Cost £50 including tip. OK for a cheap early starter before the drinking begins.
