Our first curry of the New Year brought us to this newly opened restaurant in Chorlton, just a gnats spit from the Persian Grill reviewed earlier.

The restaurant was completely empty, but then being the first proper working day back from the Christmas break it was only to be expected. Decor was modern contemporary and the waiters numerous (considering).

We were attended to in detail, with checks that all food preparation was satisfactory, and I have to say it all was.

Pops ‘n’ pickles served without asking, a la Rusholme, were all good. Hint of cinamon in the onions I reckon.

Starters consisted of Fish Tikka for myself and Pakora for Eej. Both dishes beautifully presented and both with a sweet chilli, honey mustard and coriander and chilli (I think) dips. All tasting fabulous.

Mains followed, Chilli Chicken, boiled rice and an Onion Coriander Naan for myself, Coriander Sizzler for Eej. The Naan was absolutely lovely….more like an Onion Pizza….Eej concurred. The Chilli Chicken was lovely, just a nice heat (I’d put it just short of a Madras). Extra chops arrived for Eej!

Puddings were mused over, but we were so stuffed we decided to save this treat for another time. Instead Eej filled out the feedback form while the proprieter explained that they do not use tradional indian cooking methods. Fair play.

Two Cobras and Two diet Cokes put the bill at £39. Just in budget, yay!

Recommended.
