First review in a while. Booked a sad-bloke-table-for-one at this nice looking small Balti house in the small town of Bishops Cleeve. Not far from Cheltenham.
Friendly, smiley staff, and judging by the fact I just managed to get in on a Monday night, this must be a popular place.
Don’t let those empty chairs fool you, it’s was *very* busy and several people were advised to “come back later and we might be able to get you in”.
Chicken chaat starter, followed by a chicken tikka madras Balti and Keema naan
This fella had the biggest puree I’ve seen on a starter, you can barely see the plate. Standard mild chicken curry going on here.
This unassuming madras had a initial quiet, but creeping heat. Coupled with a couple of large green chillies the resultant effect had beads of sweat running from my temples, and a smile of satisfaction when it was duly consumed. The naan, a keema-on-the-outside affair was a little overdone, but tasty with a great crunch of a base. Nearly a deep-pan pizza.
£16.15 including a pint of diet coke, and should keep me happy for a few days more. I feel I will be returning.
