Last night saw 6 of us descend on the Indus Tandoori in Lower Oscott. Myself, Monkey, Le Minkey, Lee, Adrian, and Mark.

Beers and pops were ordered while we awaiting the arrival of Le Minkey late from the gym (any excuse for an extra beer later).

Le Minkey and myself ordered the onion bhaji starter, and though I concetrated on the flavour of the onion bhaji’s themselves, Le Minkey was pre-occupied with the tomato artistry depicted in the photo above. Bless.

Bhaji’s were good, a little small, but five on the plate. Went very well with the red spicey sauce supplied with the pops.

The mains were very varied, which lots of dishes I have not seen before. I thinks there’s a little “fusion” going on here, but this will take a few more visits to discover if this is a good thing or not.

On this occasion, however, I played it safe ordering Chicken Dupiaza (Madras hot), with sizzling rice and a keema nan.

Now then…the Cobra was kicking in, but this tasted fabulous. The best curry I’ve had in a while. Dupiaza was perfect, and at madras hot just right. The sizzling rice was basmati with garlic and spring onions…and fantastic…went sooooo nice with the dupiaza. Keema nan excellent. All went down a treat.

No complaints from the others, although I was too busy enjoying mine to take much notice of them!

Ended up at around £22 per head for this fella including beers.

A definite re-visit.
