This has been my second “home” now for nearly 9 months whilst I’ve been working in Walsall.

It very close to junction 10 of the M6, and as with most Premier Inns has a pub/restaurant next to it which does the breakfast and evening meals. This one is TableTable, and of the affiliated pubs I’ve come across with Premier Inn is the nicest.

What I like about Premier Inns, and this one in particular is that they designed it to be quiet, so normally I do get a good night’s sleep. The rooms are all the same, decor, furniture and bathroom all match, which means you know what you’re getting.

I found in the past with this Walsall one that the prices varied considerably. I was told this was due to local events. Since I would be staying a while I tried to strike a deal to keep the price the same, but they wouldn’t have it. Since then however, the price has remained the same – coincidence maybe.

The rooms all have Freeview tellys, which has a great variety of channels, and some interactivity. Much better than hotels where you only get an analogue TV with it’s associated channel choice. Picture quality is always good here.

No complaints about the staff, I see a regular bunch, and they are always friendly.

The quietest rooms are on the 1st floor at the back of the hotel. Sometimes you get noise from diesel vans leaving early out the front, and if you on the ground floor residents about tramping about late at night can wake you.

Any major problems here, especially if you get disturbed at night, will get you a refund for that night if you go complain at reception. So, it’s in their interest to ensure you get a good night’s sleep.

There is WIFI, but unfortunately it is not free.

It costs me £60 a night, not including breakfast, which I don’t have anyways.

Premier Inn have a very good website that allows you to book online should you wish. This I use to pre-book a few weeks in advance.
